What to Expect

Mosaic Community Church located at 123 S. 51st St. in the Walnut Hill section of West Philadelphia.

Where We Meet

We meet at 123 S. 51st St. in the Walnut Hill section of West Philadelphia.

We meet each Sunday morning from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. with child and adult Sunday School classes being held from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Each month we join together after church for a potluck fellowship meal, an informal time in which to meet and catch-up while sampling other people’s cooking.

We are near the 52nd St stop of the Market-Frankford El (blue line). Street parking can be found in the area but there is no dedicated parking lot. Our main worship space and bathrooms are on the 1st floor and are accessible to all.

Our Sunday service

Our services consist of singing (we like 4-part singing), a time to greet each other and scripture reading. There is often a children’s talk, a sermon or meditation and a sermon response time (a time to respond to the speaker and each other). Lastly, we take time to share with each other our joys and concerns. Each month we also celebrate communion.

While the pieces of our service are generally consistent, our worship team differs each Sunday, providing some differences in flavor each Sunday. Someone will present a sermon or meditation. This may be the pastor or someone in the congregation and occasionally, we will have an outside speaker. Several times a year, we have “Music Sunday” where music in various forms (singing, instrumental) are the main parts of the service.

We provide a nursery for during the church service and Sunday School (children and adults) follows our worship service. The safety of our children is important to us and all adults that work with children must provide current child abuse clearances.

People share a heartfelt hug inside the church.
